Featured stockist: Our Vintage 2012

Julie and Shelley opened Our Vintage 2012 at Denmans Garden this February and have since created a hub for local craftspeople in West Sussex

Julie and Shelley have shared a passion for beautiful vintage furniture, clothes, accessories and places for many years. Since discovering Denmans Garden a few years ago, they have teamed up with the owners and opened a shop selling distressed, hand painted and upcycled vintage furniture as well as a fortnightly vintage fair with stalls selling collectables, hand crafted shabby chic gifts, bunting, distressed furniture, clothes, books and classic cars.

“Denmans Garden is nestled on the western edge of Fontwell racecourse. It has a unique 1920s style garden cafe, a conservatory with a golden feathered palm in the centre amid fine antiques,” Julie told us. “We’re supporting our local community by providing a regular location where artists and craftspeople can promote their products, whilst enjoying this enchanting location.”

They are also helping to promote local musicians. “At our debut event, Dawn Gracie sang her repertoire of 40s-60s songs and she will be returning on 15 July by popular demand. Dave Smith played acoustic jazz guitar last week and this week we will be joined by Becki Short to sing vintage melodies.”

“Shelley and I saw Pretty Nostalgic on facebook and felt it offered something different. We love the feel and look of the magazine, together with all the sentiments and vision that also make us love vintage living. It’s more of a book than a magazine and definitely a collector’s item. Issue one inspired us to buy lavender oil, make our own petal confetti, put up bunting and spread the vintage word.”

Our Vintage 2012 is next to the cafe and open open daily 11am to 4pm, (Closed Mondays)
