In issue three of Pretty Nostalgic magazine we’re launching the Mood Board Challenge: we are challenging designers, British makers and bloggers to put together physical, tactile mood boards that show off their home decorating style – whether you have a soft spot for natural history, a love of found objects, a penchant for steampunk or a fancy for rich bohemian shades. We are giving you one week to come up with your board. We will print the best three in issue three of Pretty Nostalgic (on sale 1 September), and all of the boards will feature here on our website. We would love each mood board to be a riot of colour, texture, fabric and pattern and be filled with found objects, souvenirs, ephemera and much loved collections. This feature is all about heartfelt decorating: it’s about celebrating the objects you already own, rather than buying new, and about creating your own style, rather than following a trend. Check out our Pinterest for inspiration – and feel free to be as creative as you like with how you display your mood board. It can be neat or haphazard, as tactile as you like, and you can show your colour palette in threads, paint splashes or painted objects. If you would like to get involved, please email us with a hi-res (300dpi) image of your board along with 200-250 words to explain your choice of objects and colours plus 50-70 words about yourself, plus your website. The photo will need to fit the dimensions H: 240mm, W: 380mm The deadline is Wed 15 August – and we can’t wait to see what you come up with! |
